Brannon Hamby CIE, CMR, HCT

Indoor Environmental
Performance Consultant

READ BIO

Affectionately known by his team as the “building science nerd”, Brannon spent his early career in the field performing moisture investigations and building envelope assessments.  An insatiable desire to understand why things happen lead deeper into the world of the indoor environment.  Now, having consulted on over 6,000 properties in the last 20 years, he is able to “read” a property with respect to occupant needs and identify the correlations between the built environment and health.

As a board-certified Indoor Environmentalist and lab certified Mycotoxin Investigator who performed property assessments, wrote remediation protocols, and provided remediation verifications, he continued to see gaps in the industry that often lead to remediation failures.  These failures weren’t necessarily due to a lack of execution, but often a lack in the ability to identify all the pre-existing factors that undermine building performance and air quality.

His passion for holistic solutions and a healthy business was shared by partner and friend, Jack Shannon, that lead to the formation of Pure Maintenance of South Carolina.  He and his team are passionate about creating healthier indoor environments through a multidisciplinary approach for what they refer to as functional remediation.

Brannon and his team work with many people who suffer environmentally acquired and chronic illnesses to identify and correct root causes of indoor exposures for the best outcome.  The conviction to serve the community in good faith with transparency is the culture and purpose Brannon and his time seek to embody everyday.  Brannon lives in Mt Pleasant South Carolina and is married to his best friend with whom he has four children and stays quite busy!

Jack Shannon CMRC, RBS, ASCS

Field Operations
Director I Partner

READ BIO

Jack has lived in the Southeast for the majority of his life and holds a BA Degree in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. While his intention was to pursue the medical field, his early adult career was spent with a non-profit reaching and mentoring collegiates as a Christian missionary.

During this time Jack and his wife also began doing property restorations as another stream of income. This hobby turned into a passion. That passion developed into a business when Jack became a licensed contractor and opened a boutique home renovation company that specialized in kitchens, bathrooms, and fine carpentry work.

As the firm grew the projects gained greater complexity leading Jack to develop a deeper understanding of gaps in construction sciences that lead to property damages. Jack now holds certification as Certified Mold Remediation Contractor (CMRC) and an Air Systems Cleaning Specialists (ASCS).  Jack is a stickler for details and organization, which serves him well as the field operations director.

Jack lives in Charleston and is married to his best friend. The Shannons have three rambunctious children.
