Our experience, values and mission for cleaner air are what make us so special.
We seek to be good stewards of expertise that fills a unique gap in our community by creating and maintaining healthier indoor environments. Our vision is to lead the residential indoor air quality industry in providing holistic and building science based solutions that sustainably support indoor wellness.
Pure Maintenance is not just a name, it’s a destination we strive for every property to reach. We do this by identifying the root causes of moisture and indoor exposure sources and providing a roadmap toward health that is sustained with routine maintenance. Finding a synergistic relationship between property performance and indoor health is the definition of Pure Maintenance.
A good relationship is founded on trust. We will be truthful, approachable, and transparent so that you know us and understand “why”.
The stakes are high and there is no margin for technical error. A continuous evaluation and incorporation of the latest environmental and clinical research is used to achieve the highest standard of care.
We embrace the inconvenience of both anticipated and unforeseen variables with courage and transparency to achieve mutuality of benefit.
We enter each project with an open mind and empathetic ear to avoid assumptions and really hear the story. Understanding the occupant’s story and experience is critical to success.
We cannot give what we do not have. We invest in the development and healthy life balance of our people that gives priority to faith, family, and rest for a culture of enrichment and engagement.
We believe that we were intelligently designed, gifted, and resourced to do good on behalf of our neighbors.
Brannon Hamby CIE, CMR, HCT
Indoor EnvironmentalPerformance Consultant
Affectionately known by his team as the “building science nerd”, Brannon spent his early career in the field performing moisture investigations and building envelope assessments. An insatiable desire to understand why things happen lead deeper into the world of the indoor environment. Now, having consulted on over 6,000 properties in the last 20 years, he is able to “read” a property with respect to occupant needs and identify the correlations between the built environment and health.
As a board-certified Indoor Environmentalist and lab certified Mycotoxin Investigator who performed property assessments, wrote remediation protocols, and provided remediation verifications, he continued to see gaps in the industry that often lead to remediation failures. These failures weren’t necessarily due to a lack of execution, but often a lack in the ability to identify all the pre-existing factors that undermine building performance and air quality.
His passion for holistic solutions and a healthy business was shared by partner and friend, Jack Shannon, that lead to the formation of Pure Maintenance of South Carolina. He and his team are passionate about creating healthier indoor environments through a multidisciplinary approach for what they refer to as functional remediation.
Brannon and his team work with many people who suffer environmentally acquired and chronic illnesses to identify and correct root causes of indoor exposures for the best outcome. The conviction to serve the community in good faith with transparency is the culture and purpose Brannon and his time seek to embody everyday. Brannon lives in Mt Pleasant South Carolina and is married to his best friend with whom he has four children and stays quite busy!
Jack Shannon CMRC, RBS, ASCS
Field OperationsDirector I Partner
Jack has lived in the Southeast for the majority of his life and holds a BA Degree in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. While his intention was to pursue the medical field, his early adult career was spent with a non-profit reaching and mentoring collegiates as a Christian missionary.
During this time Jack and his wife also began doing property restorations as another stream of income. This hobby turned into a passion. That passion developed into a business when Jack became a licensed contractor and opened a boutique home renovation company that specialized in kitchens, bathrooms, and fine carpentry work.
As the firm grew the projects gained greater complexity leading Jack to develop a deeper understanding of gaps in construction sciences that lead to property damages. Jack now holds certification as Certified Mold Remediation Contractor (CMRC) and an Air Systems Cleaning Specialists (ASCS). Jack is a stickler for details and organization, which serves him well as the field operations director.
Jack lives in Charleston and is married to his best friend. The Shannons have three rambunctious children.

Wynn Kopp ASCS
Lead Indoor Environmental Technician
Affectionately known by his colleagues as “The Wise-Crack”, Wynn likes to bring his quick wit and sarcasm learned from years spent in the locker rooms of his college football days onto the job site as often as possible. Wynn enjoys working with his hands and exploring his artistic side every now and then. Spending time with his brothers and sisters, who are spread all over the U.S, is important, and dreaming of his next vacation, as his wife demands he book the family flights to Hawaii.
A lover of sports, Wynn enjoys watching his alma mater destroy opponents in Death Valley in the fall and he hopes to one day own box seats in Tiger Country.
Wynn has three funny, usually well-behaved, intriguing little kiddos all under the age of ten, who keep him just as busy at home as when he is cleaning insulation out of tight attic space. He and his wife Julie reside in lively home and neighborhood they love in North Charleston.
Wynn is a certified Mold Remediator (CMR) as well as a certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) with NADCA. He is currently building on his two years with Pure Maintenance SC in pursuit of future certifications.
Indoor Environmental Technician
As a graduate of Ferrum College in 2015, and spending years learning on the Roanoke County Police force (Virginia), Jonathan moved to Charleston in February 2021 and has been with Pure Maintenance SC since the Fall of 2021.
With an interest and drive to learn about the inner workings of all things Indoor air, Jonathan has built his technical skills and knowledge on air quality, environmental hygiene, building science and more. He has learned a tremendous amount and sees things in homes differently now. Jonathan loves helping clients to improve their lives with better air quality!
When he’s not itching from insulation, Jonathan can be found enjoying a good day to fish or hunt, and will always have time for a game or two on the XBOX. He also spends his days out and about with his lovely wife, Erin, and his Pembroke Welsh corgi, Seamus. Sometimes if you catch him at the right time he will tell a good story about growing up in Craig County/Roanoke Virginia!
After graduating from The Citadel and having teaching and military experience, Elijah moved back to Charleston and began working with Pure Maintenance in the Fall of 2021. Since then, he’s certainly learned a lot!
A two-fold desire to learn and serve drives Elijah to learn more about indoor air quality, building science, and environmental hygiene. He has found that remediation requires a great deal of technical skill and scientific knowledge. There’s always more to read! His favorite thing about the job so far is seeing the difference a healthy environment makes in the lives of our clients.
Besides cleaning duct work or swinging a hammer, Elijah enjoys learning about and explaining the “geeky” side of remediation, and so you may see him with his signature little green notebook jotting down questions for Jack and Brannon later. He appreciates a good story, going hiking and camping, and writing poetry. He spends his free time as a newlywed with his amazing wife, Elizabeth Anne, and their German Shepherd, Freja.
Chastity was born and raised in Alabama where she finished her teaching degree at University of South Alabama. As an avid people person she loves helping! Chastity gave up teaching once having children and has enjoyed being “back to work” with the Pure Maintenance SC team since 2019.
With a background in Christian ministry and construction, she enjoys supporting and and educating people as they walk through the process of regaining a healthy home. Her natural empathy is shown through as she guides clients who are trying to understand what is going in their home and with their health.
When Chastity is not talking with a client or drafting sequence documents, she can be found crafting, watching a show with her hubby, kayaking or running with a friend, or wrangling her 3 adventurous “gingers”.
